Not to be confused with Parmigiano-Reggiano Grana Padano has a slightly sweeter, subtler, less sharp flavor than its similar counterpart of Parmigiano-Reggiano.
"Grana" refers to its desired grainy texture you find in hard cheeses. The perfect cheese for a cheeseboard accompanied with sweeter items of figs or fruit jams, or as the leading star for Cacio e Pepe, but best on its own as a delicious treat.

Cacio e Pepe meaning "cheese" and "pepper", one of our favorite simple dishes. Bring water to a boil and add our bucatini cut pasta to water for about 5 or 6 minutes until slightly under al dente, remove and drain. In a saucepan, melt butter, add pepper and cook until toasted. Add some of your pasta water and bring to a simmer. Add pasta, butter and grated Grana Padano cheese, stirring and tossing with tongs until melted and coated.
